Ray,
What you describe may be ralated to the type of filter you are using to
pick up side scatter signals. If you are using a 488 di or any other non
UV optics with UV excitation the signal is going to be very weak. You may
try using a UV side scatter dichroic filter. I think we got ours from Omega.
