Cy5 NHS ester is available from Amersham, who bought Biological Detection
Systems.

Texas Red is now available as a succinimidyl ester from Molecular Probes
(rather than the sulfonyl chloride that can be problematic when labelling
mAbs).

Both of these offer chemistries that are pretty simple (especially compared
to PE comjugation).

Hello everybody out there,

Having problems to conjugate a hamster mAb to Phycoerythrine, I'm curious
to know if there are different protocols out there for custom direct
conjugation of antibodies to PE. Are there species specific problems
(hamster vs mouse or rat mAbs) ?? I'd be happy about any protocols or hints
to improve our success... (PE is a bit too expensive for trial and
error...).

I'm also interested in other custom conjugation of fluorescent markers
(APC, PerCP, Cy5, etc...), as well as eventual suppliers of the necessary
reagents.

Thanks very much already in advance...

Matthias
