Your problem is probably not that 16 Mb is insufficient, but rather that an
insufficient amount of that 16Mb has been allocated to CellQuest for use by the
program. Find out by quiting CellQuest and selecting the CellQuest icon from
the finder. Do a "get info" command from the file menu or just press apple-I on
the keyboard. A dialogue box will come up that will show you, among other
things, the memory requirements of the program. A minimum and a preferred size
are shown. You can increase the portion of RAM allocated to the program by
selecting the values in these boxes and typing in a new (larger) number. The
amount of memory you allocate to CellQuest is only limited by the amount
available after the system and other apps you want to run simultaneously are
running. If you allocate the entire 16 Mb to Cellquest, it will not run because
there will not be 16Mb left after the system uses its partition. You can find
out how much can be allocated to CellQuest by selecting "About this Macintosh"
under the apple menu from the finder. This shows you how much total memory you
have, how much is available for use after the currently running programs use
their partitions, and the partition and actual use by each program that is
running at the time you check. You could load your limit of data pages into
CellQuest, go to the finder, do the "About this Mac", and see that the little
bar has gone from blue to gray. This shows you that CellQuest has reached the
limit of the amount of memory allocated to the program.

Good Luck!
