Plenary talks: 1) CD4 Determinations in HIV infection: Past Present and
Future; 2) Lymphocyte Immunophenotypes Useful in the Prognosis of HIV
Disease; 3) Use of Lymphocyte Immunophenotypes to Predict Therapy Outcomes;
4) Assuring Quality CD4 Lymphocyte Determinations in Clinical Care; 5)
Decision-making Processes for Laboratory Managers; and 6) Integration of CD4
Determinations with Other Laboratory Measures in HIV Infection.
Workshops are planned as follows: 1) Hematology Measures; 2) Gating
Strategies; 3) Absolute Counts on the Flow Cytometer; 4) Controls; and 5)
New Methodologies for Absolute CD4 Counts
We are also asking for abstracts to be presented as posters. Topic areas
for posters are: 1) Technical information/data relative to performing CD4
determinations; 2) Quality assurance/quality control; 3) New technologies;
4) Additional cell markers; and 5) Therapeutic monitoring. Some abstract
submitters may be asked to speak briefly at the workshop sessions as well.
