As one interested and concerned about the development and application of
flow and image cytometry in the (Very HOT!!!) Great Lakes area and
beyond, I am posting this notice publically. I strongly support the
concept of having a workshop on the extreemly important topic of
quantification of flow (and image) cytometry measurements at GLIIFCA. For
the most part, we are all using this inherently quantitative technology to make
qualitative measurements (true, DNA ploidy measurements tend to be
quantitative, and S-phase measurements should be, and measurements of
antigen expression need to be...).

Having said this, I STONGLY object to having a "fee for service" tutorial
at GLIIFCA which basically supposts the products of one manufacturer! In
addition, the fee requested for this service is significantly out of line
with the costs and with the overall philosophy of GLIIFCA- a free and
useful exchange of flow and image information.
