We currently use a Meridian ACAS 570 laser cytometer to analyze and sort
adherent cell populations. Our analysis include Ca++ flux, fluorescence
redistribution after photobleaching, "gap-FRAP", membrane localization
(co-capping), and cell-cell adhesion studies. We are interested in upgrading
to confocal capability, especially for our calcium, co-capping, and
cell-cell adhesion work. One reasonable choice is to upgrade the ACAS but we
are interested in any other suggestions regarding alternate commercial
hardware/software systems that people have had good experience with. We are
also interested in any comments regarding the upgraded Meridian systems
("Ultima" and ACAS). Thanks in advance for any help.
