RE: B/W overlays on HP LYSYS

Just a reminder prompted by Nick King's reply to Simon Monard's query
(copied below): if you can get your listmode files onto a PC (or a
PowerMac with PC hardware), the FREE programs WinMDI and MFI both make
histogram overlays from a diverse range of cytometers. WinMDI's are
publication quality. Both programs also export histograms and listmode
data (for dot plots) to ASCII files suitable for spreadsheets or generic
publication-quality-plotting software. MFI's histogram exports can be
gated and smoothed before export (I'm not sure about WinMDI in this regard).

The sources of these and other FREE flow cytometry software packages are
in the comprehensive catalog available via World Wide Web (using a Web
browser such as Mosaic, Netscape, or Lynx) at http://www.umass.edu. Select
biological sciences, then (near the bottom of the bio sci home page) flow
cytometry facility. They are also available by ftp:

WinMDI by ftp: facs.scripps.edu in /pub/pc.
MFI by ftp: flowcyt.bio.umass.edu in /pub/flowcyt/mfi.
