In response to Kathy's question,

The recipe I have used is as follows:

7-AAD staining solution (25ug/mL in PBS with .1% sodium azide). Dissolve
2.5 mg of 7-AAD in to 100 mL of PBS with .1% sodium azide.
Store at 2 to 8 degrees C for up to a month.
