Sorter Upgrade

A question was recently posed regarding repair of a laser. At the time I
didnt give the responses much thought and I deleted the mail. Now I wish I
hadnt. I have a Coulter 753. The dye laser is out and one of the Coherent
90-5 lasers is down. I would like to consider repairing the system and I
have two questions.

1. Someone mentioned replacing the plasma tube for about $3-5K.
If this is truly a viable option, does any one know of a
source?

2. Does anyone have experience with the Cytomation CICERO
upgrade system?

We were in the process of trying to get approval for a new sorter when the
state legislature decided that hospitals in New Jersey should be socially
responsible and treat any patient who shows up in their clinics regardless of
their ability to pay. Since uncompensated care reimbursements were cut off,
all capital expenditures are on indefinite hold. Now I have to re-look at
options. If I can put the 753 back on line for $25-30K, administration may
buy in. Your comments would be most welcome.

Thanks!!!!
