Apoptosis: HO 342 & PI

We are currently testing the Hoechst 33342 and propidium iodide dual staining
apoptosis detection method reported by Belloc et al Cytometry 17: 59-65
(1994). We are interested in finding a method that will allow us to both
quantitate apoptosis as well as identify surface markers at the same time.

Has anyone had experience with this technique? Are there problems with its
implementation?

We are using a B-D FacStarPlus flow cytometer with a single laser (non-UV).

Thanks
