Zip drives

Greetings,

Recently there has been some interesting discussion over data storage. I
wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with, or heard reviews, about the
new Zip drive from Iomega. I read a flier from my favorite software store
last night and the description demanded inquiry. It claims to be "totally
portable" (ie. lightweight, small, and easy to use on multiple PC's). The
initial cost is less than $200 and a three pack of discs is ~$50. There would
be physically more discs than a 230MB Seagate or Bernoulli, but ~$500 for
2GB is a significant savings over other options. I'm curious as to the
"portable" issue, as well as speed over other hardwardware. Thanks for your
time.
