You didn't specify what cells you are working with - but if they are
lymphocytes they will nicely remove it themselves if you incubate them at 37
degrees C. in Ig-free medium for about an hour. The Fc bound IgG is
pinocytosed and degraded rapidly.
Another published technique is to briefly expose the cells to low pH. I cannot
quickly find the reference but if it is important to you I will dig it up.
Treating the cells with a protease (we used to use pronase) will remove not
only the Fc Bound Ig but the receptor itself and a great many other surface
proteins. Culturing the cells will then allow them to regenerate their surface
receptors but not the Fc bound Ig.
