publishing E-mail

Given the ease of by E-mail pretending to be someone you're not, I would
hesitate to _in print_ ascribe any comment to a person, based on E-mail
supposedly authored by him/her. This is even more important for mail going
through list servers/mailing lists.
Although it is unlikely that this would be a problem in this forum, it would
seem prudent and curteous to contact the author to verify, before publishing _in
print_.
