Annual Clinical Applications of Flow Cytometry Course

General Course Description: This methods course in flow cytometry will offer
special emphasis on basic techniques for applications of flow cytometry in the
clinical laboratory setting. The faculty will consist of distinguished
members of the flow cytometry community in their respective areas of
expertise. This course is to be directed at those individuals with at least
six months experience in clinical flow cytometry interested in enhancing
their expertise in a current area or broadening their range of applications.
Laboratory and lecture sessions will include applications in immunology and
cell biology, immunophenotyping methods for leukemia and lymphoma specimens,
immunophenotyping and QC methods for specimens from HIV patients,
image cytometry methods for neoplastic specimens, DNA sample preparation and
analysis methods for neoplastic specimens, techniques for monitoring drug
resistance and efficacy, transplantation/cross-matching flow cytometric methods.

Course Tuition: $1200.00 (US) includes laboratory fees, course materials,
room and board for the week.

Transportation: Transportation to and from the facility is NOT included in
the tuition. Participants should plan on flying into San Diego Airport,
Lindberg Field. Shuttle Buses are available to and from the airport.
Facility is located on the beach. Car rental is not required but may be
desirable.
