For those interested in laser life ---- A couple of months ago the
air cooled Argon 15 mw Cyonics 2201 (Uniphase) laser on my Elite died.
It was installed in Nov 1989 and lived a fulfilling life. I returned
it to Uniphase for repair which took about 3 weeks total. The cost
was $3812 and the tube came back with a years warranty. I think we
got excellent value from this laser at 6600 hours! It took only 30
minutes to replace and retarget it.
