Dave,

Perkin Elmer makes one (the LS-50B). We've been using it for a year, it seems
to work well but I don't know how it stacks up against others. We just released
a new version of it here at the Applied Biosystems Division to support our new
TaqMan chemistry for PCR. You can do quantitation of starting copy number
that's specific to a particular target sequence. I'll send you a brochure when
they get printed at the end of the week.

I have recently been asked to "recreate" by flow some experiments
originally performed on multiwell fluorescence plate readers(MWFPR), (with
mixed success).

The thought occured to me that as a Core FACS Facility, specializing
in fluoresence analysis that a useful service/technology to offer and
support would be a MWFPR. It is a first cousin to FACS, and I think would
be a popular and useful adjunct to the FACS Core.

Question, does anyone have any practical experience with this kind of
device? Any caveats? Are there any FACS Cores now offering this
technology? Is there a model/system that is particularly well thought of?
