Evidently the file is being modified in the transfer process. Exactly
what transfer method are you using? Serial, GPIB/IEEE-488, or something
else? What software? What kind of computer is the intermediate host?
Since I can transfer listmode data files HP->PC and then PC->HP and they
are intact*, its difficult to imagine why a CODE file wouldn't survive this
process, but I haven't tried it. My transfer method is with an IEEE-488
card in the PC connected to the HP GPIB cable, using HPPCLINK (the free
software provided by B-D) at both ends.
*I've transferred listmode files to the PC, used my program MFI to insert
a label (comment field) into the FCS file structure, transferred the
modified file back to the HP, and verified that FACScan Research Software
(ca. 1988) still analyzes it without complaint.
