POSITION: FLOW CYTOMETRY SPECIALIST
NOVEL MICRODROP ENCAPSULATION TECHNOLOGY

Qualifications: Ph.D.-Life Sciences, Extensive Experience Performing
Flow Cytometry Analysis Including Sorting and Assay Development

Technology: Single cell, microdrop technology is being optimized for use
in several different applications for performing growth, secretion and in
situ hybridization assays within permeable, agarose microenvironments.
Microdrops are roughly 40 micron, spherical particles which allow rapid,
quantitative, single cell analysis in combination with flow cytometry or
image analysis. Applications under development include:
-identifying and recovering high secreting hybridoma and
transfected cells for bioprocessing and gene therapy applications;
-identifying and recovering chromosomes or chromosome fragments
using
FISH and FACS;
-developing clonogenic assays for use for rapid antibiotic
susceptibility determination, and natural products screening for drug
discovery;
-analyzing subpopulations of cytokine secreting cells for
diagnostics and drug discovery.

Responsibilities: Establish a flow cytometry and image analysis center at
the company; heavy product development emphasis; experience with sorting
to recover hybridoma/ transfected cells or chromosomes of interest
required as well as the ability to design and perform multi parameter
assays. The successful candidate will thrive in a flexible, intense,
environment and will be comfortable moving research forward and
interacting with outside users in industrial settings.

Company Background: One Cell Systems, Inc. is an emerging, biotechnology
company focused on commercializing its technology for research, clinical
diagnostic, and drug discovery applications. The companys technology has
been exclusively licensed from MIT and is protected by eight issued
patents. The company has spent the last eighteen months designing and
manufacturing a sophisticated emulsifier for encapsulation and optimizing
reagents and matrices for several assays. The technology is now ready
for a wider audience beyond current beta sites.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience; unique, early stage, founders
stock ownership plan available; outstanding opportunity to publish state
of the art research.
