One suggestion for improving the sensitivity of your scatter measurements
is to use a water cooled argon laser running in UV. A water cooled argon
laser has less optical noise than an air cooled laser. Also by running
in UV, when a particle scatters UV light, it scatters it farther because
the light is a longer wavelength.
