Joseph Webster of SYDNEY asks a question about lasers and value. I have sold
2 Coherent 90-5 lasers over the past 4 years. Both had a reasonable number
of hours on them, but were in good condition. The forst sold for US$12,000
and included the controller, powersupply, head, optics etc. the second I sold
recently for US$10,000 without the controller. A second hand controller is
obtainable from Coherent at times for $1500. Both lasers were in excellent
condition and were running at 3.5-4 watts. Both users are on my campus and we
have remained friends!! so I guess the lasers worked out OK!
