Position Description

This position will provide technical support and may assist with experimental design for all faculty programs within the flow cytometry unit at the Institute for Cellular Therapeutics. Primary responsibilities include the operation of highly sophisticated research equipment in the performance of cell sorting (Vantage cell sorter and FACS Aria Cell Sorter) and flow cytometric analysis (FACSCalibur and LSR II Flow Cytometer). Candidate will also operate and analyze specimens using a fluorescent microscope and a Leica confocal microscope. This position will be responsible for the calibration, quality control and quality assurance of all  equipment in the flow cytometory unit. Individual will assist with the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOP) including clinical Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) SOPs and will ensure proper training and operation of equipment for all research personnel within the flow cytometry unit. Requires advanced knowledge of basic laboratory techniques such as preparation of primary cells from bone marrow and spleen, handling mice, preparing cells for phenotyping. Working knowledge of flow cytometry, cell sorting, and cell imaging techniques preferred. Individual will also assist with processing mPBMCs and bone marrow for use in clinical transplantation under FDA approved clinical trials. Position requires on-call duty, off-hour work and overtime.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in related field of Science and two years of Research experience. May require professional certification. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EE.
