Hi All,

Matthias has kindly pointed out that it was important to mention which
version of the Coulter software I was using - it's Expo32 v1.2 Analysis.

Mnay thanks,

Hi All,

I've been trying to figure out the meaning of the stats on the cytometer we
use and find them very confusing, I was hoping some of you experts may be
able to help me out a bit with them!

Using the software with the machine I am able to get the following stats
calculated automatically:-
		- Chi2
		- K-S Mode probability
		- K-S Mode D value

I'm also not sure what the overlay plots should look like in K-S mode i.e.
what should I expect from 2 populations which are different?

One of the problems I have is that we are looking at 2 different populations
of cells and even when there appears to be very little difference between
them the K-S probability is still coming out very low (it seems to always
give a value of <0.000001 no matter how similar/different the populations
are).

To help illustrate these problem I attach a word file containing 2 separate
analyses, one in which from looking at the basic overlay plots you would
expect there to be a significance in the stats and the other in which the
populations appear to be too similar for the stats to give you significance.

I would also welcome any comments you may have generally on the use of stats
with flow results.

Thanks for your help,

Elaine Kennedy
