red substrate for beta-galactosidase activity monitoring

Dear Flow-ers,

Does anybody know/has experience with a red fluorogenic substrate for
beta-galactosidase activity monitoring? We have tried ImaGene Red C12RG
from Molecular Probes, but we do not get a specific signal on lacZ
transfected HEK293 cells. Can someone who has used this or other
substrate give some suggestions?
