Mac G3 and OS9.2.2

I just "upgraded" the MACs on my BD benchtops to blue and white G3s with OS9.2.2,
they all seem to suffer from having a very slow finder a little while after sarting
them. Has anyone come accross this? Found a solution? It does seem to be something to
do with the internal ZIP drives.
Any insight appreciated
