Operator, Gladstone Flow Core. Research Technologist II-III: cell sorter operator position available. The main duties of this position are to run, in conjunction with the other operator, and under the supervision of the director, the two BD Vantage sorters for researchers. Maintenance, QC, user training on benchtop instruments, and other duties will be assigned depending on skill level. The RT II will have at least one year sorter experience, while the RT III requires three years of sorter experience minimum. Some evening work will be necessary. In addition to cytometry skills, experience with tissue culture, blood preparation, and cell staining are desired. Strong computer skills are necessary. The Gladstone Institutes are affiliated with UCSF and focus on cardiovascular disease, neurosciences, and HIV-AIDS. The flow core services a diverse range of projects, although the focus is cell and molecular biology and immunology.
