CD56 in rhesus

I'd like to clarify my response to Paul Kuon and the list about CD56
and rhesus NK cells: The 1-3% CD56+ lymphocyte population is not the
entire NK cell population, but probably either a minor subset of NK
cells or monocytes falling within the lymphocyte scatter gate. The
CD8+/CD16+ NK population should be quite a bit larger, around 10-20%
of lymphs. I meant to say that, as in Paul's reference range, we also
see CD56 on only about 1-3% of CD3- lymphocytes; however, CD56+ is
also expressed on monocytes in rhesus macaques.
Sorry about the confusion.

Mandy
