nulear localization and quenching

Colleagues -
A researcher here is interested in tracking nuclear translocation of a
protein. Is there a good method for this by flow? He is looking to see if
this translocation occurs in only a subset of cells. I suggested antibody
staining, followed by fixation and nuclear isolation. With this approach
there is the possibility of cytosolic contamination. We discussed the
possibility of a nuclear stain that would quench the fluorescence of a
tagged protein when it translocates. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Julie
