Doug Smoot- >A postdoc here was asking for a good book to explain to him the basic >principels of flow cytometry. He ALREADY has Howard Shapiro's book, but >has found that difficult reading. Is there another book that you would >recommend for him to read. I know Howard's book is an excellent book, I >just need other good suggestions. I saw the list of books on the Purdue >web site, but those books don't all have good summaries or recommendations >attached to them. I can recommend two books which are smaller and simpler than mine; Michael Ormerod's "Flow Cytometry", 2nd edition, 1999. Publ. by Bios, Oxford. ISBN: 1 85996 107 X, and the 2nd Edition of Alice Givan's "Flow Cytometry: First Principles", due out shortly from Wiley-Liss. And I will try to make the 4th Edition of Practical Flow Cytometry easier to read... -Howard
