Flow Cytometry Scientist

ViaCell, Inc.  is a privately-held, pre-IPO, cellular medicine company

clinical trial using its patented technology for the expansion of stem

SUMMARY:
Running and managing a Coulter EPICS Elite, and Becton Dickinson FACSort
flow cytometry.  Position requires you to work independently and interact
with several groups involved in R&D, process development, and clinical
processing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing routine flow cytometry
Protocol development
Scheduling instrument
Providing training as needed
Creating operation budgets and ordering supplies
Data storage, record keeping, management, QC on instruments and reagents
Following and creating SOPs in conjunction with QA/QC


Skills:
Multi-color analysis
Sorting
DNA and cell cycle analysis
Knowledge of CellQuest, ModFit, and EXPO software
Sterile technique, sample preparation, and tissue culture
Strong computer (MAC and PC) and documentation skills
Familiarity CD34+ testing using ISHAGE based protocols is highly desirable
Immunohistochemistry or other histological skills a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a B.S. degree with a minimum of 2 year experience in
research-oriented flow cytometry.  Candidates with more advanced degrees
(M.S. and Ph.D. are encouraged to apply.
Position and salary are dependent on training and experience.
