Hello all...

Sorry for the confusion regarding cardiac bleeding!  In response to
Rafael's query, the mice are anesthetized prior to cardiac puncture and
promptly euthanized following it.  Rafael is quite right that depriving a
mouse of 25% of its blood volume and expecting it to recover is not only
unethical but probably impossible.  This is definitely an endpoint procedure.
