Being either floweur or flower I think you guys will have to "downgrade"
your Macs to make CellQuest happy.

The lowest version of MacOS Pismo will take is 8.6 which will work fine with
CellQuest 3.3 (not sure about 3.1). This downgrade has to be so called
"clean install" with new System Folder without third party extensions. Best
thing is to boot Mac with MacOS 8.6 System CD, use Drive Setup from that CD
to reformat hard disk, I recommend with both "low level format" and "zero
all data" options (will take couple of hours, though), then install System
Software. If you are madly in love with OS 9 you can make a separate
partition dedicated for it in Drive Setup -> Functions -> Customize Volumes,
and after installing 8.6 boot from OS 9 CD and install MacOS 9 on that disk.

Rich, don't miss the opportunity to simulate any choosen cytometer from
BDPAC Control Panel on Pismo, that will let you virtually connect to that
machine, acquire those funny square-shaped populations of test-pulses, but
more importantly let you open different instrument settings from data files.
Keep BDPACInit out of Startup Items in System Folder, you don't need it for
simulation.

Mr. "Zip" - Cell Quest 3.3 would work fine on G4, but EvE Init that comes
with CellQuest 3.1 doesn't have a driver for EvE USB sentinel. Try to find
BD FACStation software v. 3.1 CD (with CQ v. 3.3, surprisingly) before
downgrading to MacOS 8.6 - that might not help at all.

Have fun,
Sasha.
