POSITION AVAILABLE!
A flow core technician/manager position in the NCI Medicine
Branch Flow Core (main NIH campus, Bethesda, MD) is available and
posted on the NIH CareerHere website
(http://www.nih.gov/news/jobs/,
job description number NCI-00-0738).
The candidate who takes this position will assist in the managment of a
core facility serving approximately 30 faculty members in the NCI
Medicine Branch, Division of Clinical Sciences. The core currently
operates a BD FACSVantage SE (three laser, six color), a BD FACStar, a BD
FACSCalibur and a Compucyte LSC, and is expected to make additional
instrument acquisitions within the next few years. The candidate
will spend approximately 50% of their time operating the Vantage and/or
the LSC for Branch users; the other 50% will be spent in general core
maintenance, training and assisting users in FACSCalibur operation,
consulting with Branch faculty on technique development, and conducting
an independent flow-related research project of the candidates
choice. The candidate will answer to the core head (Bill Telford)
and a faculty advisor (Ron Gress). This position is an exciting
opportunity to get involved in a rapidly expanding flow core and
development facility. Visit our website at
