Dear Flow Group, I'd appreciate any thoughts anyone has regarding the ectopic expression of class II molecules on CD8 lymphocytes, especially during disease. Most older literature considers this expression - generally of DR - simply as an activation marker. In a literature search I did last week I found only one paper that looked at the possibility that these class II molecules were presenting peptide to other immune cells, i.e., that the CD8's were functioning as non-classical APC's. Please write to the address below. I'll summarize responses and post them to the list. Thanks in advance. Mark Pavlick NIAID mvp@nih.gov
