class II expression on CD8 lymphocytes

Dear Flow Group,

I'd appreciate any thoughts anyone has regarding the ectopic
expression of class II molecules on CD8 lymphocytes, especially during
disease. Most older literature considers this expression - generally of DR -
simply as an activation marker. In a literature search I did last week I
found only one paper that looked at the possibility that these class II
molecules were presenting peptide to other immune cells, i.e., that the
CD8's were functioning as non-classical APC's.
Please write to the address below. I'll summarize responses and post
them to the list. Thanks in advance.
