dye lasers

Hi folks,
    We've got a Coherent Standing Wave Dye Laser model 599.  Driven by a
Coherent Spectrum.  We currently use Rhodamine 6G as our dye, but it
does not excite APC optimally.  Exciton makes a dye called Kiton Red,
which is purported to be a better excitation source for APC than R6G.
Have any of you sorter operators any experience with this scenario?  It
may be a moot issue as we might remove the dye head altogether and use
the Spectrum in its place, but I would still like feedback.  Here is
