Mike,
    It is my understanding that running the PMT's you spoke of below 300VDC
will not be detrimental to their respective life expectancy. At 300VDC will
the signal to noise ratio be high enough for signal detection? Both of these
PMT's do have a maximum anode to cathode voltage rating of 1250VDC. Would it
be more efficient operate the PMT in its normal operating range while
attenuating the photons prior to them reaching the PMT?
