We have had similar difficulties with OS9 and Cellquest, but we were able to
remove the blasted system and reinstall OS 8.6.1.  We backed up our HD and after
reformatting it, reinstalled 8.6.1 from the factory CD.  Things are running
quite well, no Cellquest conflicts.  Important note however, this is the
computer we use solely for analysis.
