Hi Simon,
I just bought a 17mW 635nM HeNe from Coherent that went into a Facscan.
The tube and power supply were reasonably priced and performed well. Higher
power tubes are also available. You also may want to check out Power
Technology's line of laser diode modules. The link to the table of available
modules is http://www.powertechnology.com/LDINFO/DIOLIST.ASP . The ones
listed on this page have elliptical beams, so you may want to talk to them
about getting a circular beam output. Hope this helps.
