The Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis seeks a full-time Manager/Operator for a new research-oriented flow cytometry core facility. This individual will maintain and operate one high-speed sorter (Cytomation MoFlo) and supervise use of one analytical instrument (BD FACScan). This facility will serve a large number of investigators conducting a wide variety of analytical and sorting applications. The ideal candidate will be able to assist these scientists with experimental design, technical optimization, and data interpretation. Duties would also include scheduling, billing, report generation, supply ordering, data analysis and archiving. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or engineering sciences and at least 2 years' sorting experience; M.S. or Ph.D. are preferred. The successful candidate will be independent and innovative with strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Salary commensurate with experience. Computer (PC/Mac) hardware/software, web design, and networking skills highly desirable.
