software compensation

As an addition to the current debate regarding offline colour compensation,
We have had difficulty in the past compensating samples on our FACScan, such
as some annexin experiments where the green FITC signal may be substantially
brighter than the PI signal.
In order to address this, we are currently testing a prototype program that
we have developed for multicolour compensation using similar algorithms to
those described in Bagwell & Adams (1993), Annals New York Academy Sciences
677: 167-184.
This is currently a DOS-based program, but we may upgrade it to run in
Windows format.
Once it is fully tested we expect to make this program available as
shareware.
