I have a curiosity for those of you routinely running clinincal CD8 analysis. Back in 1986 when I first started to run CD8's, it was popular (using BD's IMK or simulset software) to set up the markers on isotype, then all events positive over the CD8 isotype were reported as CD8+. Given all the information that seems to have been collected on CD8 brights, dims, etc- what are people commonly reporting out for CD8+ cells? I am aware that most run a CD3/8 combo, but what I'm after is: is it still acceptable to lump the dim & brights, or do you "sub-gate" the brights and only report these? Or is this a totally irrelevant thought?
