Reticulocyte and erythrocytes (cell lines?)

Hi there,
We are interested in iron research and hence in iron transporters.

 Q 1) Is anyone aware of any cell lines (any species) with erythrocyte
or reticulocyte properties and are they easy to get ?

Q 2) We are  interested in good and easy protocols to isolate red blood
cells from human and rats?. I hope it is not too naive to ask also for
protocols to isolate reticulocytes from peripheral blood!!.

PS: By the way, where does the greeting "Dear Flowers" originate from?
