Hi Michele,

I should recommend the upgrade to a G4. It will run much much faster then
the Quadra and your throughput increases a lot. Not only cellquest will run
faster (not watching the turning globe for 5 seconds after you hit the
acquisition button), but the data rates from the cytometer are also higher.
I moved the Quarda to the cell sorter (not used for routine samples, sorting
only) because it's so slow compared to the G3's I have at the
Facscans/Facscalibur.

	Hi,

I am planning on upgrading the MAC (Quadra 650) running my FACScan
to a G4,
and have a few uncertainties. I'd like to know if the investment is
worthwhile, or should I be thinking about getting a new cytometer
altogether? Obviously, I realize the huge difference in the cost of
these
two options, but I just want to get some opinions.

	Thanks,
