Greetings Margareth,

A few years ago I and a colleague did some work on the synergistic effects
of certain cytokine combinations on the upregulation of CD11b in human
neutrophils. One of our cytokines was obtained lyophilised with trehalose
as a cryopreservative, it was only after several months of work that we
discovered that trehalose alone caused a degree of CD11b upregulation in
these cells.
I wonder how many studies have controlled for this?

best wishes

Arnold
