Hi Ann, I just want to express slight disagreement on sorting counters. On BD machines SORT L and R counters are actually counting deflection pulses, meaning that number given is: events that fit gates - (analysis aborts + coincidence aborts). Analysis aborts can be caused in three ways. Most important type is threshold abort - if second event occurs within the dead time of the previous one or if the first pulse exceeds its own dead time interval (pulse fails to drop bellow threshold by its end). On the other hand coincidence aborts would depend on sort mode, drop envelope size and drops/1cell ratio (drive frequency/event rate). Cheers, Sasha.
