rare cells

Phil, 

if you are asking if the cells were really there, yes they were.(not
"probably") That was the distribution in the original sample, which was
then put through the MACS,and then enriched to above 95% on the Vantage. I
wasn't too concerned about the accuracy of the percentage given; as we were
only interested in isolating them.

So back to rare cell sorting: we've recently acquired a high speed cell
sorter(MoFlo); however I still prefer to use the MACS for enrichment of
rare cells as at least this way hardly any cells get lost.

With the Vantage the recovery of the rare cells was very low when compared
to pre-enriching with the MACS; I don't know if this is so with high speed
sorting, I think it would be interesting to know if anyone of you has
experience here.
