In reply to your questions about spillover and sheath fluid use we have
experienced neither of those problems in our lab using a Calibur with
the loader.  We run approximately 15-30 patient specimens (panels, not
tubes)/ day and see no spillover problems using an acquisition start
delay of 5 seconds.  As for sheath fluid use, we refill the tank only
once/day for a total of 20 liters/month!  If some people are using more
than that then it might be a failure to return the instrument to stand-by
after the run.  We have lots of data to back up our claims about no
spillover problems.  We love the loader and the walkaway features of the
Calibur and would encourage anyone to include that on their instrument.
It's worth a full FTE to us.
