thiazole orange and a FACSVantage?

Hi,

I have an investigator who wants to enumerate retics using thiazole orange and I need to know if this can be done using our FACSVantage SE. We have Spectra Physics 2020 lasers on our Vantage and don't seem to be able to run them lower than 150 to 200 mW. Will this much laser power bleach thiazole orange (we are planning on using BDs Retic-COUNT reagent) in the short period of exposure to laser light? I would assume that the concentration of thiazole orange contained in BD's reagent is in excess but if not, and bleaching is a problem, would preparing our own thiazole orange reagent at a higher concentration than that found in Retic-COUNT be worth a try?

Thanks for any information and/or advice.

Ray
