Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about filling the sheath tank.

Of the 40-plus replies, most said they do not fill the tank in a laminar flow
hood and experience no contamination problems.  Many cited extensive cleaning
routines and the 0.2 um in-line filter as reasons not to use the hood.  A few
people DO fill their tanks in the hood, taking the "better-safe-than-sorry"
approach.
