Date: Fri, 01 Oct 1999 12:36:02 -0400 From: "Margaret Johnson" <johnsonm@labcorp.com> To: cyto-inbox Subject: Cytometry Users Group Message Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline Has anyone seen this before? 75 yo woman, WBC 31,000. Splenomegaly.=20 Morphology: Homogeneous population of large cells with round nuclei and a = single large nucleolus, clumped chromatin, faint pink granules in the = cytoplasm.=20 Light scatter: Cells are larger than lymphocytes and monocytes and have = side scatter like granular myeloblasts. Phenotype: Positive CD19, CD20 (bright), CD22, CD10(dim), HLA-DR, FMC-7, kappa = surface expression (bright), CD45 (from as bright as normal lymohocytes to = slightly dimmer) Negative: CD23, CD5, CD11c, CD34, CD13, CD33, CD14, all pan T.=20 The phenotype is consistent with a B cell lymphoproliferative disorder = however the granular cytoplasm seen both on Wright's stain and by light = scatter is very atypical. The ordering physician thought it was AML. = Anyone seen granular B-cell prolymphocytes or lymphoma?
