performance of high speed cell sorters

Hi dear Flowers,

We are in the middle of discussions about the purchase of a new cell sorter
with high speed sorting facilities. On paper the Moflo looks the most
promising but as allways in these matters one gets all kinds of second,
third ... hand "off the record" information that can go from extremely
positive to extremely negative.

I would therefore appreciate very much receiving first hand information on
how the Moflo and the Vantage (with high pressure option) and the Altra
(with high pressure option) perform in the real every day sorting world. We
are experienced users (with BD Facstar plus, Facscan, Ortho, and Coulter
equipment) and we need sorters to sort, not to do analytical work or to be
dead half of the time! You can send your remarks in English, French, German
or Dutch.

Please, in order not to offend any people or company, send your opinions to
me personally rather than to the mailing list: I could try to generate some
general remarks from the reactions I receive and upon personal request (from
end users, not from cytometry companies) I can forward all the information I
receive.

Thanks in advance,
Dirk
